Why does a plaid lid on a jar indicate only jelly or jam or preserves and nothing else. How about a plaid lid for mayo?
Why do they always use beams of light instead of a sheet of light to protect goods in museums and movies?

Plaid lids on jam are one of life's mysteries.
But I'm just amazed that ketchup still comes in glass bottles. You go to some restaurant, and somebody at your table has a sure fire method of getting the ketchup out. At worst, somebody will even resort to sticking a knife in the bottle to help it along.
But shouldn't we have evolved past this point?
How do we know that's really you in the artsy blog portait? Too dark to pick out your tatoos - only the outline of your hair gives you away - but that COULD be a wig.
